Georgia Access Open Enrollment for 2027 coverage runs from November 1, 2026 through January 15, 2027. Enroll by December 15 for a January 1 start. Enrollments from December 16 through January 15 generally start February 1.
What to do during this window
If you already have Georgia Access coverage, review your renewal notices and update your existing application. Your household, income, plan, and estimated financial assistance may have changed. Georgia Access says it automatically re-enrolls current consumers ahead of Open Enrollment, but that does not mean the same plan will remain the best fit.
If you are applying for the first time, start a new application during Open Enrollment. Outside this window, you generally need a qualifying life event for a Special Enrollment Period.
Three details worth checking
- Your coverage start date. December 15 is the cutoff for January 1 coverage.
- Your first premium payment. Selecting a plan does not activate coverage by itself. Pay the insurer by its deadline and read your enrollment notice.
- Any request for documents. Georgia Access may ask for proof of income or other information. Follow the deadline in the notice.
Have your household details, estimated 2027 income, current coverage information, doctors, and prescriptions ready when you compare plans.
